R-7 middle schools recognize students of the month for May

Lee’s Summit R-7 School District middle schools recently recognized their May Students of the Month. Students of the month are recognized based on outstanding citizenship, conduct, attitude and school involvement.

Students of the Month from Bernard Campbell Middle School are Callie Monroe and Daniel Valmassei. Callie is the daughter of Jane Monroe and Russ Monroe. At BCMS, Callie is involved in concert band, track and field, talent show, concert choir, school musical and ukulele club. Away from school, Callie enjoys dance, piano, guitar, singing, church activities and is learning Korean. She has been listed on the principal’s honor roll. Daniel is the son of Amy Valmassei and Scott Valmassei. At BCMS, Daniel is involved in cross country, orchestra, choir, concert choir, robotics, track and ukulele club. Away from school, Daniel enjoys sailing, water-skiing, gymnastics, lacrosse, Boy Scouts and Lee’s Summit Youth Choral. He has been listed on the principal’s honor roll all quarters.

Students of the Month from Pleasant Lea Middle School are Rachel Nash and Ben Lock. Rachel is the daughter of Patsy Nash and David Nash. At PLMS, Rachel is involved in webCARES, library club, and is a library assistant. Away from school, Rachel enjoys tutoring and babysitting. She has been listed on the principal’s honor roll all quarters. Ben is the son of Kim Lock and Greg Lock. At PLMS, Ben is involved in basketball and football. Away from school, Nicholas enjoys baseball and football. He has been listed on the principal’s honor roll all quarters.

Students of the Month from Summit Lakes Middle School are Nadia Hundley and Matthew Gauert. Nadia is the daughter of Natasha Hundley and Allen Hundley. At SLMS, Nadia is involved in strings, art fair, basketball and cross country. Away from school, Nadia enjoys art and basketball. She has been listed on the principal’s honor roll. Matthew is the son of Kristin Gauert and Don Gauert. At SLMS, Matthew is involved in choir, concert choir, orchestra, school musicals and football. Away from school, Matthew enjoys baseball and football. He has been listed on the principal’s honor roll all quarters.
