Shelton a finalist for National American Miss

Joya Marie Shelton, of Lee’s Summit, 11, has been chosen as a State finalist in the National American Miss Missouri pageant to be held Aug. 9-10 at the Holiday Inn Executive in Columbia, Mo. The National American Miss pageants are held for girls ages 4-18, and have five different age divisions. Shelton will be participating in the preteen age division.

Shelton, daughter of Tammy Jackson of Lee’s Summit, attends Underwood Elementary and her activities include, gymnastics, drawing, nail design and duck tape projects. She also enjoys playing the violin and styling hair.
