School raises $2,600 for Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation

June 5, 2013

Sunset Valley Elementary Student Council recently coordinated a school-wide fundraiser resulting in a $2,600 donation to the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation.

Students raised this amount by donating coins on designated days, such as “crazy socks day,” team sportswear and hat day and spirit wear day.

The class donating the most money competed against the Student Council in a school volleyball game.

The Sunset Valley Student Council has supported a variety of charities through fundraising activities, including the American Cancer Society, Joplin tornado relief, relief for Japan after the tsunami and help for citizens of Haiti.
