Festival to force street closures in downtown Lee’s Summit

June 5, 2013

The annual Downtown Days street festival in Lee’s Summit will force several streets to close beginning June 5.

The main fundraiser for Downtown Lee’s Summit Main Street, this year’s festival takes place June 7-9, but streets will be affected starting June 5 with the closure of Green Street from Second to Fourth Streets, and Third Street from Green to Douglas Streets, which will all close at 5 p.m. that day.

The location is where the festival’s carnival rides will be, as well as in the Arnold Hall parking lot.

All other streets between Green and Jefferson, and Second to Fourth will close at noon June 6.

All streets will remain closed until the evening of June 9.

Downtown Days is expected to draw crowds of approximately 90,000 people to downtown Lee’s Summit.
