Passport to the Arts summer camp

(ages 8-15)

June 10-14

Explore world cultures through art making. This multicultural art camp encourages children to explore the vitality of other world cultures through the visual arts. Sign up for half day, or pack a lunch and spend the day. Half Day 9 a.m.-noon – $95 per student Whole Day 9 a.m.-4 p.m.- $180 per student (9.5% discount for the whole day) (all supplies included)

Art in Nature: Painting (ages 8-15)

June 17, 18, 20, 21 9 a.m.-noon

This beginner painting class will teach the basic skills for students to create their own masterpiece using nature as inspiration. Students will learn about the color wheel, the use and care of painting tools, some basic techniques and still have plenty of opportunity for their personal touch. $90 per student (all supplies included) *Bring a sack lunch and enroll and stay for Intro to Watercolor.

Introduction to watercolor

(ages 8-15)

June 17, 18, 20 & 21 1-4 p.m. $85

Students will learn the basics of watercolor, such as wet-into-wet, washes and more. No fear of drawing. We are going to transfer the design onto your paper. Bring in clear images of something you would like to create. (Images must be something from life: landscape, person, animal, flower etc….no cartoons)

Pop art self-portraits

(ages 8-14)

July 11 & 12 (9:30 a.m.-noon)

Children will experiment with bright colors to create fun self-portraits. Children will learn about Andy Warhol and Roy Lichtenstein to make their own self-portrait. $55 per student (all supplies included)

Manga/Anime Workshop

(Ages 8-14)

June 27 & 28 (1-3 p.m.) Instructor: Tiffany Ghearing

Learn the basics of how to create Japanese style comics. Discover techniques for manga style hair, eyes & anatomy. Open to all skill levels.$20 + $5 Supply Fee

Creativity you can’t resist – Fascinations with wax (ages 5-8)

July 18 & 19 10 a.m.-noon

$45 all supplies included

With your vivid imagination, learn to draw and paint in mixed media with brilliant effect. Students will explore the techniques of wax resist and use watercolor paper, pencils with erasers, oil pastels, crayons, watercolor and brushes to create their masterpieces.

Mimic a Master (ages 5-8)

June 27 & 28 (10-11:30 a.m.)

We will focus on different styles and techniques of famous artists throughout time. Students will be taught the styles of: Claude Monet, Vincent Van Gogh and Henri Matisse. This is an opportunity to introduce some art history and techniques to your child while providing creative and fun art activities using oil pastels, watercolors, collage and acrylic. $45 per student (all supplies provided)
