With each day the grasshopper situation is becoming more serious. It is thought that practically all the hoppers are hatched out, and as they grow they will naturally do more damage to the crops and gardens. Farmers are being urged to fight the hoppers with poison bait which they may secure on order from the Farm Bureau.

Lee’s Summit’s new $247,503 swimming pool was officially dedicated and opened with a brief ceremony and public tour of the facilities. The pool, located in Harris Park at U.S. 50 and Jefferson, had been scheduled to open this time last year, but was delayed by a construction strike. It is expected to provide much healthful recreation for the people of Lee’s Summit.

Covering more than two thousand acres of northern Lee’s Summit, Lakewood is the new recreational residential lake community beginning to emerge from the rolling wooded hills and around the shores of what will soon become a 330 acre lake.
