Dora I. Inskeep

Dora I. Inskeep, beloved Mother and Grandmother passed away on July 9, 2013 at Rehabilitation Center of Raymore.

Irene was born in Warner, Okla. to Winston and Myrtle (Cook) Slavens on Sept. 21, 1923. She lived most of her adult life in the Lee’s Summit area. Irene worked at many different jobs in her life, but found her niche at Colonial Nursery in Blue Springs, Always a people person, she made many friends there. Her customers would ask for her and wait until she was free to help them. Irene also loved to dance and enjoyed the dances at the VFW Hall in Blue Springs. Her greatest achievement was raising her seven children mostly by herself. She kept her family together in spite of many odds.

She was preceded in death by husbands Hendrix Head and Jack V. Inskeep, her daughters, Tavia Burrow, Sharron Bennet, and Tricia Inskeep, granddaughter Danene Burrow, grandson Erick Head, and son in law Curt Maschager.

Survivors include sons Robert (Susan) Head, Dennis (Carol) Head, Rick (Cydney) Head, and daughter Vicky Maschager. She also leaves seven grandchildren and many great grandchildren.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. July 13 at Langsford Funeral Home. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Burial at Lee’s Summit Historical Cemetery.

She will be forever missed. We love you mom.
