LS Arts Council offers grants

July 16, 2013

The Lee’s Summit Arts Council is taking grant requests from local arts organizations and citizens.

To support the cultural arts in our community, the LSAC is offering financial support from $501 to $1,000 on an annual basis. This year’s grant requests are due by Aug. 1. All requests are subject to the LSAC’s approval and must be at least 90 days in advance of the event. The requests are reviewed by an LSAC subcommittee which will make recommendations to the full council in September, and applicants will be notified of results by mid-September.

Criteria considered when during review include: community impact, demonstrated need for support, project budget, creative use of funds, artistic quality, ability to administer and implement the project, and the diversity of population served.

The application is available online at www.lsartscouncil.net. Any questions regarding the form or submissions may be directed to Tede Price 816-969-1541 or tprice@cityofls.net.
