Lee's Summit Elementary hosts second summer learning event

July 23, 2013

Lee's Summit Elementary staff and families came together for their second summer learning event of the season July 11.

Nearly 300 students, parents and employees spent the evening at Summit Waves Water Park.

Students brought math and reading logs they have been completing since their last event, held June 13.

More than 1,700 math and reading activities were counted, logged and discussed as they checked into the park. For each 20-minute activity logged and signed by a parent, students earned tickets for prize drawings.

Since the last day of school in May, students at Lee's Summit Elementary have logged nearly 3,000 math and reading activities.
