Lee’s Summit Parks and Recreation is offering a chance to learn the basics of golf with golf sessions held at Family Golf Park, 1501 NE 40 Hwy., Blue Springs.
Beginning golf for adults will consist of two class options. Saturday classes will take place from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Sept. 7 through Oct. 5. There is also a Wednesday class held from 6-7 p.m. Sept. 11 through Oct. 9.
Sessions are $80 per person if participants register by Aug. 17 and $88 after that.
There are also two beginning sessions being offered for children ages 8-12. Saturday classes will take place from 10-11 a.m. Sept. 7 through Oct. 5. Wednesday classes will be held from 4:30-5:30 p.m. Sept. 11 through Oct. 9. Sessions are $80 per person if registered by Aug. 17 and $88 after that.
Lee’s Summit Parks and Recreation is also offering tennis lessons at Summit Park, 451 NW Blue Pkwy, Lee’s Summit, for children and adults beginning in Sept., with the early bird deadline of Aug. 16.
Classes offered include: Rookies Tennis for ages 5-6 on Saturdays from 9:15-10 a.m. Sept. 7 through Oct. 12; Beginner Tennis for ages 7-10 on Saturdays from 10-10:55 a.m. Sept. 7 through Oct. 12; Right Sized Tennis for ages 11-15 on Saturdays from 11-11:40 a.m. Sept. 7 through Oct. 12. Some previous tennis experience is required for the Right Sized Tennis program.
For adults wanting to learn the game, Beginner Tennis for anyone ages 17 and up is being offered to help adults improve their strokes through drills and pre-competitive practice matches. The sessions will be held on Saturdays from 1:15-2:15 p.m. Sept. 7 through Oct. 12. Experienced players can take part in the Advance Tennis League, which includes coached drills and tactics as well as league play on Saturdays from 11:45 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. Sept. 7 through Oct. 12.
