LSHS class of 1968 reunion

The Lee’s Summit High School 1968 graduating class will hold its reunion the last weekend of September.

Almost 100 of the surviving students have indicated they will return Sept. 26-28 for reunion activities. Nearly 300 students were in the 1968 graduating class and 37 have died.

An informal social is scheduled for 4:30 p.m. Sept. 26 the Peanut, 219 SE Main St., in downtown Lee’s Summit. The VFW Hall, at 329 SE Douglas, has been reserved as a hospitality area for the classmates on Sept. 27 in conjunction with Oktoberfest activities.

Reuniting graduates will gather 8 to 10 a.m. at Perkins on Sept. 28 before touring their alma mater at 10:30. Parking lot socializing is scheduled for noon to 2 p.m. Sept. 28 at Johnny Rays Drive In, 800 NW Blue Parkway. Socializing will continue 5 p.m. Sept. 28 in the lower level of the Brew Top at 700 Woods Chapel.

The 1968 Class President Ross Miler will be returning to Lee’s Summit from Florida to preside over the festivities. Chairperson organizing the event is Pam (Taylor) Holstead, who may be reached by phone at 573-317-1198.
