Cundiff volunteers for Arlington National Cemetery

August 21, 2013

Jon Cundiff of Weed Man in Lee’s Summit, was one of many volunteers who recently helped take care of Arlington National Cemetery.

The Renewal & Remembrance event, July 22, is in honor of America’s fallen soldiers. Each year the event draws hundreds of landscape and lawn care professionals from across the country to spend the day mulching, cabling and installing lightening protection for trees, pruning, planting, and liming and aerating more than 200 acres. This year, more than 400 volunteers participated.

Cundiff said it was the third or fourth time he’d taken part in the event which is about a dozen years old.

Lee's Summit Journal is pleased to provide this opportunity to share information, experiences and observations about what's in the news. Some of the comments may be reprinted elsewhere in the site or in the newspaper. We encourage lively, open debate on the issues of the day, and ask that you refrain from profanity, hate speech, personal comments and remarks that are off point.
