The Jacomo Chorale begins 31st season

Do you like to sing? We are looking for new and former members to join us. The Jacomo Chorale, Jackson County’s original community chorus, invites those with musical hearts and a desire to learn and enjoy all types of music to join us in celebrating our 31st season. The Jacomo Chorale, under the direction of Dr. Helena Vasconcellos, and accompanied by Michelle Comacho and Velma Tyson, began its 31st season on Aug. 22. Chorale members are drawn from Independence, Blue Springs, Grain Valley and Bates City, among others. The Chorale is actively recruiting new and returning members. Rehearsals began on Aug. 22 at 7 p.m. at Nativity of Mary Church, 10017 E 36th Terrace, Independence, Mo. 64052. Concerts are scheduled throughout the year, beginning on Oct. 20. • Fall Concert: Oct. 20, 4 p.m. at Nativity of Mary Church

• A Christmas Celebration: Dec. 7, 7:30 p.m. at Nativity of Mary Church
