ChiliFest Sept. 7 in downtown LS

September 4, 2013

On Sept. 7th the Lee’s Summit Sunrise Rotary Club will be holding the 11th Annual ChiliFest in downtown Lee’s Summit. The event will be on Green St., right in front of City Hall. Patrons of the event will be treated to various kinds of chili, wings and salsa in the four state area. Tasting starts at noon, but patrons who arrive early can participate in the first annual Green on Green Sustainability fair from 10 a.m. to noon. Tasting cups will be $5 to eat, and the Boulevard Beer tent will be there as well. The competition will close when the food runs out. The award ceremony will be held around 2:30 p.m. and will include “The Peoples Choice Award.” Patrons can vote with any dollar amount for their favorite cooks. All proceeds raised for ChiliFest will be split equally between Hope House, Langsford Boys Home and the End Polio Now campaign.
