LS girl wins first place in national essay contest

September 9, 2013

Stacey Edmonsond, now a freshman at Lee’s Summit North High School, was awarded a first-place finish for an essay she submitted this past spring to the National Academy of Engineering.

Edmonsond was notified in June of the Engineer Girl essay contest award, a national competition in which she won first place in the sixth- to eighth-grade category.

The title of her essay was “Robots: Therapy of the Future.”
