PLMS choir to perform “Fight the Fight” song benefitting Jonas Borchert family

September 11, 2013

The Pleasant Lea Middle School Black and Gold Choir will perform “Fight the Fight,” a song written to assist R-7 student Jonas Borchert and his family, at performances Nov. 12 and 21. Jonas, currently a student at Lee’s Summit High School, attended Pleasant Lea Middle School and has been battling Ewing’s Sarcoma since 2011. After a period of remission, Jonas’ cancer has returned.

“Fight the Fight” was written by LSHS sophomore Jordan Hoffman (also a former PLMS student) at the request of Pleasant Lea Middle School music teacher Holly Dahn.

“I was honored when my middle school choir teacher asked me to write a choral piece about Jonas’ journey and decided that I would also record the song as a solo single,” Jordan said.

All funds raised through digital sales of “Fight the Fight” will be used to assist the Borchert family. The song may be purchased through CD Baby, iTunes, Google Play or Amazon by searching for “Jordan Gabriella” or “Fight the Fight.”

Jonas, Jordan and their families have been invited to attend the Nov. 12 and 21 concerts.
