LSHS, LSNHS tennis teams are ‘Pounding It For Hunger’ at Sept. 19 event

September 11, 2013

The Lee’s Summit High School and Lee’s Summit North High School tennis teams will be “Pounding It For Hunger” beginning at 3:15 p.m. Sept. 19 at the LSNHS tennis courts.

The Broncos and Tigers are competing to see which team will reach victory by donating the most pounds of food for the R-7 Club B Backpack program. Each team will have a labeled bin located at the tennis match, and those attending the game are encouraged to bring food items.

Suggested items are listed on flyers available at each school. A few examples include canned dinners (chili, ravioli, etc.), canned fruit, canned vegetables, juice boxes, pop tarts, microwave pretzels, cereal bars, spaghetti sauce, ready-to-eat pasta and pudding cups.

Lee's Summit Journal is pleased to provide this opportunity to share information, experiences and observations about what's in the news. Some of the comments may be reprinted elsewhere in the site or in the newspaper. We encourage lively, open debate on the issues of the day, and ask that you refrain from profanity, hate speech, personal comments and remarks that are off point. Thank you for taking the time to offer your thoughts.
