Les Blades

September 13, 2013

Les Blades, 78, of Blue Springs passed away Sept. 8, 2013 at KC Hospice House.

If you ever saw a man walking around Railroad Park in Blue Springs at the break of dawn it was Les. He loved to walk around the park; we always had to go five times around. He retired from the Marines as a master gunnery. He also retired from the FAA, where he met our mother. Thanks for taking care of her and loving her like the queen she was.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Lois, and granddaughter, Robyn. Survivors include children: John Chandler, Bobbie Jo (Donald) Queen, Greg (Judy) Chandler and Stan (Beth) Chandler, grandchildren: Robyn, JD (Margaret), Toni (Justin), Mary Jane (John Bayron), Brent, Denny, Ford and Dakota, great grandchildren: Justin Jr,

Xavier and Elijah; and sister, Sharon Sheldon.

Memorial services will be noon, Sept. 13, at Lee’s Summit Christian Church Disciples of Christ, 800 NE Tudor Road, Lee’s Summit.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to KC Hospice House or Diabetes Association. Condolences at charterfunerals.com.
