LSN takes first at COMO Invite

For the first time in school history, Lee’s Summit North captured a victory at the COMO Invitational held Sept. 21 at the Mizzou Aquatic Center, Columbia.

The Broncos had a team score of 282.5 points, way ahead of Parkway West in second with a score of 251 points. There were 28 schools competing in the event.

Lee’s Summit North won two individual events and two relays.

Ethan Bresette took first in the 200-yard IM with a time of 1 minute, 55.12 seconds and first in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 4:46.01.

The 200-yard freestyle relay finished first with a time of 1:29.54 and the 400-yard freestyle relay team took first with a time of 3:17.67.

Brennan Dooley took sixth in the 1-meter diving with a score of 271.20 points and Jordan Stark finished 11th with a score of 248.25 points. Michael Hynes finished seventh in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 55.31 seconds and fifth in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:02.91. Thomas Faulkenberry placed fifth in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 58.11.

Josh Littell placed fifth in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 54.66 and seventh in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:51.8. James White finished eighth in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 23.27, followed by Zach Littell in 14th with a time of 23.43. White also placed 10th in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 51.06 and Zach Littell also took 10th in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 56.14.

Thomas Reilly took 12th in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 51.11 and seventh in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 58.65.

The Broncos finished eighth in the 200-yard medley relay with a time of 1:47.26.

Lee’s Summit West took 16th with a team score of 52 points.

The 200-yard medley relay team of Nik Ekborg-Ott, Garrett Spencer, Blaise Howard and Ben Peterson finished 10th with a time of 1:48.98. The 200-yard freestyle relay team of Ben Peterson, Ekborg-Ott, Spencer and Ryan Kallenberger took ninth with a time of 1:34.93 and the 400-yard freestyle relay team of Ben Peterson, Mark Peterson, Alex Andrews and David Treece took 11th with a time of 3:38.58.

Nick Underwood took 12th in the 1-meter diving with a score of 231.40 points, followed by Alek Underwood in 13th with a score of 228.90 points. Ekborg-Ott placed 20th in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 53.27, followed by Spencer in 21st with a time of 53.53.

Ekborg-Ott also took 18th in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 1:01.57 and Spencer placed 24th in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:09.35.

Lee’s Summit finished 28th with a team score of two points.

The 200-yard medley relay team of Sam Drew, Dan Licata, Eric Graves and Skyler Starr took 19th with a time of 2:00.92 and the 400-yard freestyle relay team placed 17th with a time of 3:47.97. Drew took 16th in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:06.81.
