Lillygren named NAIACoach of Character

Kansas City StarOctober 3, 2013

Tricia Lillygren of Lee’s Summit North High School was recently selected for the Coach of Character Award through the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics.

The Coach of Character Award is designed to honor Kansas City metro area youth, club, high-school or college coaches who exemplify the Champions of Character values both on and off the court.

Lillygren will be honored at the NAIA’s inaugural Champions of Character Foundation Luncheon, a new event created to recognize character in the community. The event will be held Nov. 6 at the Kansas City Convention Center Grand Ballroom and will recognize Lillygren as well as the high-school student-athlete of the year, college student-athlete of the year, citizen of character and company of character.

At Lee’s Summit North, Lillygren teaches math and is head coach for girls’ basketball and is assistant coach for varsity softball. This is her 19th year at Lee’s Summit North.
