With their younger players taking the reins, Lee’s Summit West finished off Suburban Middle Six conference foes Ruskin 8-1 Oct. 1 at Lee’s Summit West.

“Ruskin doesn’t have a very strong team this year, so it allowed us to get our younger players some experience, which we like to do,” Lee’s Summit West head coach Todd Wilson said. “They stepped up and gave us a great team win.”

The Titans won every singles match, starting with Greta Roettgen with an 8-0 victory. Hanna Fikki won 8-0, Julia Munsell won 8-3, Elizabeth Hunt won 8-6, Meghan Martin won 8-1 and Emily Mount won 8-4.

In doubles, Madeline Brady and Sierra Hartman won 8-4, Rachel Jones and Madeline Finnerty won 8-5 and Angela Grisamore and Monique Murcia lost 4-8.

With the win, Lee’s Summit West moves to 10-2 for the season.
