MCC-Longview president to provide input on panel

October 9, 2013

MCC-Longview President Kirk Nooks is one of four new college presidents who will provide input at the Spectrum Executive Leadership Program Nov. 4-5 in Alexandria, Va.

The eight-month program, sponsored by the American Council on Education, is designed to provide leadership and advocacy to groups that are under-represented in higher education today.

The program prepares people of color to be strong candidates for presidencies and chancellorships.

Nooks, who was named MCC-Longview president this past July, is one of 40 people chosen from throughout the country to present information about the first 100 days of their presidency at colleges nationwide. He will discuss how to manage the transition and will share how to build an effective team based on his early experiences at MCC-Longview.
