LS students part of UCM’s “The Pirates of Penzance”

University of Central Missouri students from Lee’s Summit, Brett Faulkner, Brooke Myers, and Dashawn Young, were part of the cast and crew for the “The Pirates of Penzance” production.

UCM’s Department of Theatre and Dance, in collaboration with the Department of Music, presented the production Oct. 9-13 in Highlander Theatre.

Faulkner, son of Richard and Carolyn Faulkner of Lee’s Summit, was a police officer for the production. He is a sophomore at UCM and a 2009 graduate of Lee’s Summit North High School.

Myers, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Mike Myers of Greenwood, was Kate for the production. She is a sophomore at UCM and a 2012 graduate of Lee’s Summit High School.

Young, son of Stephanie Sodders of Lee’s Summit, is a freshman at UCM and a 2013 graduate of Lee’s Summit High School.

“The Pirates of Penzance” is a treasure-filled musical extravaganza packed with dazzling damsels in distress, rugged rogues and swashbuckling pirates.
