Healy, Bagunu take first in speech and debate tourney

October 23, 2013

The Summit Christian Academy policy team of freshmen Corbin Healy, left, and Abram Bagunu placed first in the Oak Park Speech and Debate Tournament recently, defeating other area high schools including including Rockhurst and Blue Springs. The policy team is a part of SCA’s speech and debate team. This is the first year that SCA’s team has competed in policy debate, which requires that students delve into one subject for one year, becoming an expert in that area. The focus this year is on Cuba’s relationship with the United States.
