Suspect in custody after high-speed chase ends in Lee's Summit

A suspect is in custody after leading police on a high-speed chase that ended in Lee's Summit. 

The chase stretched from Interstate 435 and Holmes Rd. in Kansas City, through the Grandview triangle, into neighborhoods in east Kansas City, Raytown and Lee's Summit, before it ended on I-470 near Blue Parkway where the suspect's vehicle crashed into another vehicle. The driver fled on foot into nearby woods after the crash and was caught on foot after about an hour of police searching.

Police officials said at one point the suspect's vehicle reached a maximum speed of 120 mph.

The suspect was taken into custody just after 6 p.m.
