Titans golf take seventh in state

Lee’s Summit West finished in seventh place at the Class 2 state golf tournament held Oct. 21-22 at Meadow Lakes Acres Country Club, New Bloomfield.

The Titans had a team score of 749 after the two days.

“There were some very good teams in the tournament and we did not finish last which was a goal before coming to the tournament,” Lee’s Summit West head coach Richard Myers said. “Overall, I was very proud of our girls for making it to the tournament two years in a row.”

Lee’s Summit West was led by Mason Fender in 24th with a first day score of 89 and a second day score of 82 for a total score of 171.

Madi Smythia tied for 63rd with a first day score of 100, a second day score of 90 and a total of 190. Courtney Rosencrants tied for 67th with a first day score of 98, a second day score of 93 and a total of 191.

Emily Doak tied for 79th with a first day score of 98, a second day score of 101 and a total of 199. Nikki Ehlinger tied for 83rd with a first day score of 103, a second day score of 99 and a total of 202.

Lee’s Summit had one golfer compete in the tournament. Skylar Brunk tied for 30th with a first day score of 83, a second day score of 91 and a total of 174.

Lee’s Summit North’s Lindsey Graham finished 78th with a first day score of 100, a second day score of 98 and a total of 198.
