Earning spots to sectionals

Lee’s Summit West’s girls’ cross country team took second place in the Class 4, District 7 meet held Oct. 26 at Lake Jacomo.

The Titans had a team score of 60 points, behind St. Teresa’s Academy in first with 57 points. The entire Lee’s Summit West girls team qualified for sectionals.

The top 30 individual finishers, plus the top four teams will compete at the Class 4, Sectional 4 meet held Nov. 2 at Raymore-Peculiar.

The Titans were led by Annika Sisson in third place with a time of 19 minutes, 11.62 seconds, followed by Kennadee Williams in fifth with 19:27.14, Ally Iseman in 11th with 20:12.81, Elizabeth Nolke in 15th with 20:15.12, Amanda Berkstresser in 26th with 20:42.85, Camille Oster in 27th with 20:42.66 and Samantha Phillips in 29th with 20:47.59.

Lee’s Summit North’s girls placed third with a score of 63 points to qualify for sectionals.

The Broncos were led by Elizabeth Carpino in second with 19:03.22, followed by Danielle Rock in seventh with 19:41.84, Jesse Dinkins in eighth 19:42.48, Mandi Murphy in 16th with 20:18.25, Kaylan Gasser in 30th with 20:51.62, Maris Estrada in 33rd with 21:15.5 and Faith Thomas in 36th with 21:35.25.

The Lee’s Summit girls placed sixth with a team score of 147 points, qualifying two athletes to sectionals. Aubrie Hirsch took 12th with a time of 20:13.47 and Addie King placed 23rd with a time of 20:38.

Other Tiger runners were Carly Byrne in 35th with 21:29.72, Allison Stetzler in 38th with 22:00.12, Amber Smith in 39th with 22:15.66 and Jessica Cravy in 54th with 25:13.68.

The Lee’s Summit North boys’ finished third with a team score of 77 points, behind Raymore-Peculiar in first with 47 and Rockhurst in second with 62.

The Broncos were led by Brian Green in fourth with 16:30.02 and followed by Kyle Dean in seventh with 16:36.61, Sam Stockman in 15th with 17:07.15, Brent Kilgore in 19th with 17:13.92, Gabe Davies in 34th with 17:50.34, Derek Moores in 39th with 18:00.87 and Zion Harris in 54th with 18:49.62.

The Lee’s Summit West boys placed seventh with a team score of 159 points and had two athletes qualify for sectionals. Peyton Burlingame took 23rd with a time of 17:17.46 and Max Lyons finished 24th with a time of 17:19.

The rest of the Titan runners were Trevor Butler in 31st with 17:34.84, Brayden Presley in 42nd with 18:10.84, Sam Kleinsasser in 44th with 18:17.4, Austin Whitney in 46th with 18:21.84 and Dillon Manthey in 50th with 18:31.31.

Lee’s Summit’s boys finished eighth as a team with a score of 165 points and had two athletes earn spots to sectionals. Ian Nickens placed ninth with a time of 16:52.75 and Chris Mitchell finished 30th with a time of 17:33.84.

Other Tiger results were Gavin Tracy in 38th with 17:56.84, David Swed in 45th with 18:20.27, Noah Baldwin in 47th with 18:23.75, Louis Bertoncin in 55th with a time of 18:54.18 and Noah Wood in 59th with a time of 18:22.
