Publisher named new President for Show-Me Press Association

November 1, 2013

John Beaudoin, editor and publisher of the Lee’s Summit Journal and Cass County Democrat-Missourian, has been named the new president for the Show-Me Press Association Board of Directors.

Beaudoin is a Missouri Press Association award-winning journalist who has been involved in journalism since his high school days at William Chrisman. He spent 10 years at The Independence/Blue Springs Examiner working his way up from the sports desk through advertising and into management. In 2006, he took a publisher position with the Omaha World Herald/Western Iowa Newspapers group.

John returned to Missouri in 2009 to be the publisher of the Lee’s Summit Journal, the 2012 General Excellence and Gold Medal MPA winner for weeklies.

“I am honored to serve in this roll for Show-Me Press,” he said. “Working and sharing ideas with other newspapers around Missouri has always been a goal of mine and I am excited to dive into this role.”

Lee's Summit Journal is pleased to provide this opportunity to share information, experiences and observations about what's in the news.
