Summit Christian Academy was shut out in the first round of the Class 1, District 14 tournament Nov. 4 at home.

Barstow blanked the Eagles 3-0 to move on to semifinals.

“It was a tough loss against a good team,” Summit Christian Academy head coach Dane Cockrell said. “Barstow played pretty well and we were unable to capitalize on our chances.”

The Knights scored the first goal at the 15:57 minute mark in the first period and scored again with less than five minutes to play in the first half to lead 2-0.

Barstow put in one more goal in the second half to seal the victory.

“Our team is very young and learned a lot this year,” Cockrell said. “We improved tremendously over the course of this season and gained a lot of experience that I think will gain some traction with our guys and really be great for our program.”

The Eagles end the season with a 1-15 record.
