Pacing to state

Lee’s Summit West’s girls’ cross country team finished first at the Class 4, Sectional 4 meet held Nov. 2 at Raymore-Peculiar.

The Titans had a team score of 79 points to qualify for the Class 4 state meet slated for Nov. 9 at Oak Hills Golf Center, Jefferson City. The top four teams and the top 30 individuals earn spots to state.

Lee’s Summit West was led by Annika Sisson in third with 19 minutes, 2.9 seconds, followed by Kennadee Williams in fourth with 19:03.2.

Ally Iseman placed 25th with a time of 19:58.8, followed by Elizabeth Nolke in 29th with 20:01.1, Camille Oster in 36th with 20:17.1, Kourtney West in 41st with 20:30.8 and Samantha Phillips in 43rd with 20:34.1.

Lee’s Summit North’s girls placed second with a team score of 82 points.

The Broncos were led by Elizabeth Carpino in second with a time of 18:57.5, followed by Jesse Dinkins in 12th with 19:27 and Danielle Rock in 13th with 19:35.4.

Mandi Murphy placed 30th with a time of 29:03, followed by Kaylan Gasser in 47th with 20:45.6, Maris Estrada in 55th with 20:58.3 and Faith Thomas in 67th with 22:12.9.

Lee’s Summit had two girls compete in sectionals, but did not qualify for state. Aubrie Hirsch took 42nd with a time of 20:33.5 and Addie King placed 48th with a time of 20:45.8.

The Lee’s Summit North boys finished third with a team score of 100 points, behind Liberty in first with 59 points and Raymore-Peculiar in second with 73 points.

The Broncos were led by Kyle Dean in ninth with a time of 16:17.6, followed by Brian Green in 13th with 16:37.4, Brent Kilgore in 28th with a time of 16:59.9, Sam Stockman in 30th with 17:02.9, Derek Moores in 43rd with 17:22.3, Gabe Davies in 49th with 17:39 and Karl Williams in 60th with 17:58.

Lee’s Summit’s Ian Nickens qualified for state by taking 18th with a time of 16:49.1. Teammate Chris Mitchell did not qualify with a 51st place time of 17:44.

Lee’s Summit West had two athletes competing in the boys’ race, but did not qualify for state. Max Lyons finished 41st with a time of 17:21.5 and Peyton Burlingame took 53rd with a time of 17:47.1.

Summit Christian Academy competed at the Class 2, District 7 meet held Nov. 2 at Lamar. The boys team finished eighth with a team score of 191 points. The top two teams and top 15 individuals qualified for state.

The Eagles were led by Tanner Butler in 30th with a time of 19:16.37, followed by Joshua Willoughby in 37th with a time of 19:53.29, Kent Weber in 45th with 20:45.74, Clayton Gregg in 47th with 21:01.58, Caleb Dreyer in 48th with 21:16.15, Samuel Holland in 53rd with 21:52.58 and Tim Nitz in 55th with a time of 22:15.64.

Summit Christian Academy’s Erin Brownlee participated in the girls’ race, taking 23rd with a time of 22:51.53.
