Park board members Marly McMillen and Nancy Kelley toss coins into a new fountain at Fourth and Main Streets at a Nov. 5 dedication ceremony. Parks department employees built the fountain and planting beds, materials cost about $16,500 and the project would have cost an estimated $35,000 if bid to private contractors, said Gary Welty, superintendent of park construction.
