Veterans honored at Howard Station Park Nov. 11

November 14, 2013

Veterans lined up in silence Nov. 11 for the dedication of the Veterans Memorial plaque at Howard Station Park in downtown Lee's Summit. Local VFW Post 5789 Color Guard presented the colors, followed by the National Anthem performed by the Lee's Summit Men of Note. Mayor Randy Rhoads was also presented the memorial wreath at the park. Park Board President Marly McMillen made introductions following Parks and Recreation Administrator Tom Lovell's welcome. The Parks and Recreation Department sponsored the event.
