R-7 middle schools recognize Students of the Month for October

Lee’s Summit R-7 School District middle schools recently recognized their October Students of the Month. Students of the month are recognized based on outstanding citizenship, conduct, attitude and school involvement.

Students of the Month from Bernard Campbell Middle School are Julia Reece and Justin Kelleher. Julia is the daughter of Rebekah Reece and Stuart Reece. At BCMS, Julia is involved in fall play, basketball, Club 121 and was the football team manager. Away from school, Julia enjoys softball, horse shows, basketball and church activities. She has been listed on the honor roll. Justin is the son of Leslie Kelleher and Jim Kelleher. At BCMS, Justin is involved in Minecraft Club. Away from school, Justin enjoys soccer and horseback riding. He has been listed on the principal’s honor roll all quarters.

Students of the Month from Pleasant Lea Middle School are Maggie O’Connor and Matthew Cowan. Maggie is the daughter of Katie O’Connor and Brian O’Connor. At PLMS, Maggie is involved in Truman reader selector, Falcon Smart, yearbook, student council, basketball, strings, Summit Lakes Singers and the musical. Away from school, Maggie enjoys her church youth group and swim team. She has been listed on the principal’s honor roll all quarters. Matthew is the son of Melissa Cowan and Wes Cowan. At PLMS, Matthew is involved in band, archery and musical stage crew. Away from school, Matthew enjoys camping, boating and his summer swim team. He has been listed on the principal’s honor roll all quarters.

Students of the Month from Summit Lakes Middle School are Anahi Casas-Perez and Ethan Henry. Anahi is the daughter of Candese Perez. At PLMS, Anahi is involved in cross country, Tiger Travelers, choirs and WEB CARES. Away from school, Anahi enjoys playing violin, softball, volleyball and Graceway orchestra. She has been listed on the honor roll all quarters. Ethan is the son of Holly Henry and Michael Henry. At SLMS, Ethan is involved in cross country and band. Away from school, Ethan enjoys tennis tournaments, basketball and running. He has been listed on the principal’s honor roll.
