Freeland Photography nominated for 25 Under 25 award

November 22, 2013

Freeland Photography of Lee’s Summit was recently nominated for the Thinking Bigger Business Media 25 Under 25 award in recognition of their management and sales efforts.

According to owner Mike Freeland, sales have increased at a rate of 17 percent a year for the past five years. To qualify for the award a for-profit business must employ fewer than 25 full-time employees, operate for three or more years and be located in the greater Kansas City area.

Qualified nominees provide additional supporting materials that are reviewed by a panel of third-party judges from the business community. The judges select 25 finalists from about 1,000 nominees based on financial stability, ability to overcome challenges, community involvement, defining characteristics or qualities, and company vision.

The 25 finalists will be announced in mid-December. Several events scheduled for January through March 2014 will honor the finalists. Honorees are also invited as guests on the “Smart Companies” radio show. A pre-gala dinner is held for them in mid-February. The events culminate in an awards dinner and gala held in late February or early March.

Freeland Photography began in Independence in 1997. During 2011 they were selected by KC Magazine as one of the area’s top five photographers. Earlier this year, The Knot Wedding Network selected Freeland Photography for induction to the Network’s Hall of Fame at the annual Wedding MBA convention.
