Several local girls’ tennis players were named to the Suburban Big Six all-conference teams.

On honorable mention singles is Lee’s Summit North junior Jenny Krause.

On first team doubles are Lee’s Summit North’s Morrissey and Parnell and Lee’s Summit North’s Sestokaite and senior Alyson Moore.

On honorable mention doubles are Lee’s Summit’s Herder and senior Amelia Gooch.

The championship team title captured by Lee’s Summit North this season makes the Broncos the first public school in the Kansas City area to earn a state championship, in any size classification and for either boys or girls. Boys’ championships began for MSHSAA in 1968 and girls’ championships began in 1975.
