Tickets now on sale for Holiday Magic concerts Dec. 7

Tickets are now on sale for the Lee’s Summit Symphony’s next concert, Holiday Magic at 4 and 7 p.m. Dec. 7 at Lee’s Summit High School.

The popular Holiday Magic concert will include “A Rhapsody On Christmas Carols,” Choral Prelude for “Wachet auf, ruft uns die Stimme,” “Suite from the Monteregian Hills (Movement 4 – “Il est ne”), “Winter Wonderland,” “Disney Magic,” “A Charleston Christmas,” “Carol Of The Bells,” Stille Nacht,” “A Holly and Jolly Sing-Along” and “Radetzky March.”

During both the matinee and evening performances, the Lee’s Summit Symphony will be joined by the Lee’s Summit Youth Chorale, conducted by Dr. Verna Brummett, and dancers from Steppin’ Out – The Studio, directed by Phyllis Balagna. The Symphony’s conductor, Russell Berlin, will be joined by Santa Claus during one number.

The 2013-14 Lee’s Summit Symphony season also includes the Spring Classic at 7:30 p.m. March 8 and the Family Pops Spectacular at 7 p.m. April 26, also at Lee’s Summit High School.

The Symphony’s season will conclude with a special concert during late May. Lee’s Summit Symphony Showcase will be presented at 3 p.m. May 25 at the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts in Kansas City.

The concert will include student musicians from the Lee’s Summit High School, Lee’s Summit North High School and Lee’s Summit West High School orchestras. Saint Luke’s East Hospital in Lee’s Summit is the exclusive business sponsor for this event.

Additional funding for the Lee’s Summit Symphony Showcase has been provided by the Truman-Heartland Community Foundation. Missouri Arts Council, Lee’s Summit Arts Council and the Martha Lee Cain Tranby Enrichment Foundation have also provided funding for special projects this season.

Tickets are available for purchase at both Lee’s Summit Hy-Vee stores and online at Advance tickets are $12 for adults and $6 for students 18 and under. Tickets at the door on the evening of the concert are $15 for adults and $7 for students.

As part of a special promotion, all fourth- and fifth-graders will be admitted free to the Holiday Magic, Spring Classic and Family Pops Spectacular with one paid adult admission. Each fourth- and fifth-grader must be accompanied by an adult family member who is also attending the concert to qualify for the free admission.

Free ticket vouchers for fourth- and fifth-graders may be obtained at the door on each concert date.
