Oliver Lawrence DeCarlo

Oliver passed away on the evening of Dec. 16, 2013 at John Knox Village Hospice in Lee’s Summit, at the age of 64.

Oliver was born Oct. 16, 1949 in Kansas City, and attended Westview Elementary, and Lee’s Summit Junior and High Schools. He was retired from the United States Navy, and a retired employee of the United States Postal Service, where he served the Brownsville, Kentucky area for almost 30 years.

He loved motorcycles, muscle cars, 50s music, and always talked about his fantasy of building his own airplane. He loved playing devil’s advocate on almost all subjects and loved to argue politics. But most of all, he loved his family and his friends unconditionally. Although living quite a distance from home, he never failed to call home every Sunday, and visited several months out of the year.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Roxy DeCarlo, and his father, Anthony Angelo DeCarlo. He is survived by his mother, Martha DeCarlo, his brother Keary DeCarlo, and his sisters Toni DeCarlo, Conjetta Meeks, Luella Sollars and Gina Namaste.

He will be forever missed and loved.

Visitation will be at 9:30 a.m. Dec. 21 at Langsford Funeral Home in Lee’s Summit followed by funeral services at 10:30 a.m. There will be a military burial at Lee’s Summit Historical Cemetery directly following the funeral.

(Arrangements: Langsford Funeral Home, 115 SW Third Street, Lee’s Summit, Mo. 64063)
