Giving need the boot

Lee’s Summit Fire Department Capt. Kris Presnell of Lee’s Summit Fire Station No. 1 collects donations during the annual Needy Family Fund Boot Block campaign sponsored by Lee’s Summit Fire Fighter Association IAFF Local 2195. The campaign, held Dec. 19-21, collected more than $20,000 this year to benefit Lee’s Summit Social Services. According to Dan Manley, president of the IAFF Local 2195, Boot Block has collected nearly $250,000 in 10 years for the Lee’s Summit community.
