Gift baskets galore

Debbie Abeyta, an 18-year employee of HyVee, puts together fruit baskets for last-minute shoppers Christmas Eve morning at the HyVee East location in Lee's Summit. Abeyta said she'd already made 50 fruit baskets that morning and was working on others to display. There were also gift baskets loaded with baby essentials, for pets and with snacks and libations. Abeyta said as of that morning, the store had sold 406 of the gift baskets.
