LSNHS robotics team to host fundraiser

December 31, 2013

The FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) Robotics season kicks off Jan. 4.

The Lee’s Summit North High School Broncobots will host a community-wide pancake breakfast fundraiser during the morning in the Lee’s Summit North High School commons.

Pancakes and sausage will be served from 8 to 11 a.m. Jan. 4. Cost for the pancake breakfast is $6 at the door, and the community is invited. The robotics team will also feature a table of silent auction items.

The live NASA broadcast of the robotics kick-off will be shown in the LSN performing arts center starting at 9 a.m. All FIRST robotics teams in the world will start their seasons with this broadcast as the new game is introduced.

The Lee’s Summit North robotics team will have two of the previous year’s robots on display. In addition, a few FIRST Lego League teams will showcase this year’s competition robots.
