Trailridge Elementary Problem Solverz and Megabots robotics teams competed at the FIRST Lego League tournament at Bingham Middle School Dec. 7 with both teams qualifying for the Regional FLL Championship at Union Station on Jan. 18.

Trailridge’s Challengers and Team Aluminum qualified at the FLL Tournament at a competition held at Kearney Junior High earlier this fall. Trailridge Elementary currently has four robotics teams, and all four have qualified for regionals.

To qualify for the championship, a team has to be strong in all four areas of the competition: robot game, core values, project and robot design.

During the next few weeks, all four teams will be preparing for the regional event.

The Trailridge teams are mentored by robotics team members from Lee’s Summit West High School’s Team Titanium.
