Lee’s Summit R-7 School District middle schools recently recognized their November Students of the Month. Students of the month are recognized based on outstanding citizenship, conduct, attitude and school involvement.
Students of the Month from Bernard Campbell Middle School are Shelby Wiseman and Michael Strickland. Shelby is the daughter of Jamie Wiseman and Greg Wiseman. At BCMS, Shelby is involved in student council, student ambassadors, cross country, concert choir and women’s choir. Away from school, Shelby enjoys competitive swimming, walking and running in races. She has been listed on the principal’s honor roll every quarter. Michael is the son of Renita Strickland and Michael Strickland. At BCMS, Michael has been listed on the principal’s honor roll.
Students of the Month from Pleasant Lea Middle School are Ashlyn Cook and Andy Huffman. Ashlyn is the daughter of Jeanie Cook and David Cook. At PLMS, Ashlyn is involved in Tiger Smart, WEB Cares, basketball and ran the soundboard for school shows. Away from school, Ashlyn enjoys softball, basketball and piano. She has been listed on the principal’s honor roll. Andy is the son of Debbie Huffman and Tom Huffman. At PLMS, Andy is involved in cross country, awards assembly, WEB Cares, orchestra, Black and Gold Choir and Tiger Singers. Away from school, Andy enjoys soccer, swimming, hiking, fishing and robotics. He has been listed on the principal’s honor roll and received the Presidential Academic Award.
Students of the Month from Summit Lakes Middle School are Maggie O’Connor and Matthew Cowan. Maggie is the daughter of Katie O’Connor and Brian O’Connor. At PLMS, Maggie is involved in Falcon Smart, yearbook, student council, basketball, strings, Summit Lakes Singers, musical and is a Truman reader selector. Away from school, Maggie enjoys her swim team and church youth group. She has been listed on the principal’s honor roll all quarters. Matthew is the son of Melissa Cowan and Wes Cowan. At SLMS, Matthew is involved in band, archery and the stage crew for the musical. Away from school, Matthew enjoys camping, boating, swim team and family events. He has been listed on the principal’s honor roll all quarters.
