Lee’s Summit Police continue to investigate a post-Christmas robbery at a local gas station

According to the LSPD, at approximately 3 a.m. Dec. 26 officers responded to a business alarm at the HyVee Gas Station located in the 1200 block of S.W. Third Street.

When officers arrived, the suspects had fled from the area. A check of the business revealed that two thieves had attempted to steal the ATM machine from the business near the front doors.

It appeared that the thieves had attached a chain to the machine and attempted to pull it from the business using a vehicle but were unsuccessful.

No suspect information or surveillance of the incident was available at the Journal’s press time.
