Robert Paul Blankenship

Robert Paul Blankenship 86 of Lee’s Summit, passed away on Jan. 4, 2014 at his home.

 

Robert was born on Feb. 1, 1927 in Kansas City, Kan. He was a WWII Army Veteran serving in Germany. He married Nora Mae DeVaul June 19, 1947 and they had 67 years together. Robert retired on April 1, 1985 after 37 years of valued service to West Publishing Co. as an account manager. He was a member of Our Lady of the Presentation Catholic Church in Lee’s Summit. Robert was a loving husband, father and grandfather and will be missed by all.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents John Smith and Frances G. Blankenship and one brother Ansel Blankenship. Survivors are his wife Nora Mae Blankenship of the home; three sons Paul David Blankenship (Cheryl); John Robert Blankenship; and Larry Lee Blankenship. Grandchildren John and Jessica Blankenship and Julia; Courtney and Ben Ray and Peyton; and Lindsey and Alex Velasquez and Dameon and AJ.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m., Jan. 9, at Our Lady of the Presentation Catholic Church with visitation at 10 a.m. prior to the service. Entombment at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Kansas City. Memorial contributions may be made to Our Lady of the Presentation Catholic Church.
