LS man identified after fatal accident

January 8, 2014

A Lee’s Summit man who died in a one-vehicle crash Jan. 7 just outside of the city limits has been identified by Kansas City police as 59-year-old Walter Roher.

According to the Kansas City Star, Roher’s pickup truck veered off the right side of the road and slammed into a rocky bluff. Police were still trying to determine why he left the road and whether he was wearing his seatbelt. He didn’t appear to have hit the brake before the crash, police said.

Officers from the Kansas City Police Department shut down the westbound lanes of Missouri 350 at N.W. Colbern Road for several hours to investigate the crash, the Star reported.
