Empty Bowls fundraiser to benefit One Good Meal Feb. 1

“Empty Bowls,” will be held from 6-8 p.m., Feb. 1, at the Historic Longview Mansion. The “Empty Bowls” event is sponsored by the Lee’s Summit Sunrise Rotary Club. It is a fund-raiser for “One Good Meal” which serves meals for the home bound in the community. Tickets to the event will be limited this year.

Ticket cost $40 each with each person receiving a “one-of-a-kind” ceramic bowl crafted by a local artist. Ticket holders receive a sampling of the best local restaurants’ soups, homemade breads, and desserts. Wine, beer and soft drinks will also be available. Complementary horse-drawn carriage rides from the parking area to the Historic Longview Mansion will be provided. Unique items will also be auctioned during the event.

Sunrise Rotary Club president, Carl Froeschle, said that Rotary is a way for each of us to “leave a positive mark” on this world that alone we could never accomplish. He said that proceeds from this event will help support, “One Good Meal,” a local food pantry serving meals to the home bound.
