Joyce Ann McCoy

Joyce Ann McCoy, 78, passed away Jan. 13, 2014 at Lee’s Summit Hospital. Joyce was born in Jefferson City, Mo. on Dec.10, 1935, and lived in the Lee’s Summit area since 1960.

She was the owner of Prairie Ridge Motel for many years. She was very devoted to her children and grandchildren. She loved the outdoors, her horses, and dogs. Her pride and joy was her poodle, Sugar.

She was preceded in death by her Mom, Mary Young, brother, William Young, and her Aunt and Uncle, Claude and Delores Ciger.

She is survived by her ex-husband, Donald Fred McCoy; three daughters, Virginia Lee Starke (John); Sharon Kay Iiams (Michael); Elizabeth Ann Burns; Son, William Claude McCoy (Jenny); 11 grandchildren; one great grandchild.

Services were held Jan. 16, at Lee’s Summit Cemetery.

She was a loving and loyal mother, grandmother, and friend. She will be missed by all who knew her.
