R-7 middle schools recognize Students of the Month for December

Lee’s Summit R-7 School District middle schools recently recognized their December Students of the Month. Students of the month are recognized based on outstanding citizenship, conduct, attitude and school involvement.

Students of the Month from Bernard Campbell Middle School are Alexis Griffin and Asai Melgar. Alexis is the daughter of Jackie Griffin and Charleston Griffin. At BCMS, Alexis is involved in cross country, basketball, student council, track, concert choir and women’s choir. Away from school, Alexis enjoys competitive basketball and volunteering in a local hospital gift shop. She has been listed on the principal’s honor roll all quarters. Asai is the son of Azucena Aguilar. At BCMS, Asai is involved in mustang smart, spelling bee, football and wrestling. Away from school, Asai enjoys helping church construction.

Students of the Month from Pleasant Lea Middle School are Izzy Shackelford and Andrew Mitchell. Izzy is the daughter of Marcia Shackelford and Greg Shackelford. At PLMS, Izzy is involved in choir and cross country. Away from school, Izzy enjoys her soccer team and lacrosse. She has been listed on the principal’s honor roll all quarters. Andrew is the son of Connie Mitchell and Jason Mitchell. At PLMS, Andrew is involved in cross country, and awards assembly and lip sync backstage crews. Away from school, Andrew enjoys competitive soccer, sailing and magic. He has been listed on the principal’s honor roll all quarters and received state recognition in the Duke Talent Identification Program.

Students of the Month from Summit Lakes Middle School are Ellie Lucas and Mitchell Adams. Ellie is the daughter of Missy Lucas and Tim Lucas. At PLMS, Ellie is involved in cross country, school musical, band and choir. Away from school, Ellie enjoys lacrosse, swim team, piano and Christian Youth Theater. She has been listed on the principal’s honor roll all quarters. Mitchell is the son of Leann Adams and Rich Adams. At SLMS, Mitchell is involved in basketball and choir. Away from school, Mitchell enjoys student ministry, his lacrosse team and basketball team. He has been listed on the principal’s honor roll.
