SCA students place at district spelling bee

January 29, 2014

Summit Christian Academy elementary and middle school students recently participated in the Association of Christian Schools International District Spelling Bee at Heartland Christian Academy in Belton. Six SCA students placed at the top of their age groups in the competition.

“We are proud of all of our students who competed at districts,” said SCA Elementary Vice Principal Charissa Sanders. “It is exciting to see the students so focused and disciplined in academic competition.”

The Spell Down Round of the competition found Aidan Satterfield, Hannah Helms, and Matthew Mitchell in the competition with 13 other students from area Christian schools. In the end, SCA seventh grade student Matthew won third place and qualified to advance to the regional competition this March in Dallas.
