Summit Christian Academy hosts International Festival

January 29, 2014

Summit Christian Academy will host the second annual International Festival from 4:30-8:30 p.m. Feb. 18 at the SCA Elementary School, 1450 S.W. Jefferson in Lee’s Summit.

This is the second year for the festival. Nearly 500 were in attendance last year.

Those attending will travel through the continents and experience music, art, mission projects, games and sample food from around the world. Experience a parade of flags and costumes from countries, including South Korea, China, Peru, Brazil, Uganda, Spain, and many more.

“We live in a world where we are globally connected,” said SCA International Director Kathy Tharp. “SCA believes it is important to build knowledge and understanding of cultures around the world. This event will give students, families and the community the opportunity to have a glimpse and taste of other countries without leaving the area. It will be a wonderful event for families.”

Prices for tickets purchased in advance are adult-$10, student-$5, family-$30 or at the door, are adult $12, student $6, and family $36.

For information on how you can be a vendor, sponsor, or country presenter, please contact Festival Coordinator, Linabelle Finnegan at or Kathy Tharp at 816-525-1480.
